A small group of divers headed to Grand Bend in
September and dove on the newly found wreck, the
Wexford. When Jim tried to get another group out to this
wreck Mother Nature was not co-operative, with wave heights
from 6' to 10'. Time for Plan B. Off they went to
Ohio to a quarry. But not just any quarry. The
Gilboa Quarry is clear with great 50' vis and has a shallow
side sloping from 10 ' 65' and a deep side which goes past
recreational depths and is used for Tec divers. They
have training platforms at various depth and even have a
jet plane in the shallow side. The quarry is inhabited
by many different kinds of fish including the paddle
fish. For more information on the Gilboa quarry check
their web site at www.divegilboa.com.
